À 40 jours de la présidentielle, Paul Biya prend l’initiative de convoquer les collèges électoraux. À travers le décret 2025/412 signé le 1^er septembre 2025, le président de la République du Cameroun donne rendez-vous le 30 novembre prochain pour élire les conseillers régionaux. Un calendrier électoral qui suscite moult interrogations au regard du contexte sociopolitique particulièrement tendu. Il est à noter que ces régionales n’ont pas d’enjeu, parce qu’elles ne concernent que les militants du Rdpc. On reprend les élections avec les même qu’en 2020 : « Il fallait aussi prolonger le mandat de ces conseillers régionaux pour mieux garantir le jeu démocratique enfin que tous les partis bénéficient de l’espoir de mandater leur vote, ce collège électoral est partiellement caduque du fait que les élections municipales devraient se tenir d’abord et les nouveaux élus municipaux devraient voter leur nouveaux conseillers régionaux » atteste Tchafack Maurice. Pour Me Christian Ntimbane Bomo, Il s’agit de deux élections régionales, deux mandats de conseillers régionaux avec le même corps électoral constitué des conseillers municipaux issus des fameuses élections de 2020. Il poursuit en disant que la vie politique du Cameroun s’est arrêtée en 2020, une entourloupe, précisément la tricherie pour exclure l’opposition de la gestion des régions, pourtant le principal pan de la décentralisation. « Et on parle de pays démocratique ? » s’interroge-t-il. Rebecca Enonchong quant à elle, estime qu’il s’agit simplement d’une tricherie manifeste du Rdpc pour empêcher le MRC d’avoir des conseillers régionaux : « Non non non ! Vous trichez trop ! Vous avez repoussé les municipales en disant qu’on ne peut pas faire deux élections la même année. Mais vous convoquez les régionales le 30 novembre 2025 alors que ce sont les conseillers municipaux dont les mandats sont périmés qui vont voter ! C’est évident que c’est pour éviter qu’un parti en particulier ne puisse avoir des régionaux. Ce n’est pas grave ! On va reprendre le pouvoir et se débarrasser de ses conseils régionaux budgétivores et inutiles. » A-t-elle déclaré. Cette élection sera la deuxième du genre depuis la mise en place des conseils régionaux. La première avait eu lieu le 6 décembre 2020. Le mandat des conseils régionaux est de cinq ans. Le corps électoral en question est constitué de grands électeurs avec un scrutin indirect. Les conseillers municipaux et les chefs traditionnels sont chargés d’élire 900 conseillers régionaux, soit 90 par région. 20 de ces conseillers régionaux doivent être des chefs traditionnels d’après la loi électorale.

La session 2025 consolide cette réputation avec des statistiques remarquables : 100 % au BEPC, 100 % au probatoire D et C (1 échec en A4), 100 % au Bac D, C et SES (1 échec en A4), un seul échec au GCE Ordinary Level et deux au GCE Advanced Level.

Des résultats qui confirment une méthode

Pour le principal, Koagne Joseph, ces performances traduisent la constance d’une méthode et d’une vision : « Depuis l’indépendance, aucune école n’avait produit des majors nationaux dans les deux sous-systèmes. Ce résultat est historique. C’est le fruit du travail, de la discipline et de l’engagement de tous ». Cette réussite s’appuie sur des enseignants suivis et motivés, et sur une pédagogie différenciée qui permet à chaque élève d’avancer à son rythme. « Nous ne recrutons pas seulement les meilleurs, nous les formons », précise la direction.

L’exemple de Waate Matanga Jacques Stéphane, 16 ans, major national au Bac C avec mention Excellent, illustre parfaitement cette méthode. Élève du Collège Duvaal depuis la classe de la maternelle, il reconnaît que sa réussite est le fruit d’un encadrement constant et du soutien familial : « Ma première motivation vient de mes parents, qui ont beaucoup investi dans mes études. Je voulais leur renvoyer l’ascenseur en réussissant à tous les examens avec brio ». Il conseille à ses camarades d’être disciplinés, ponctuels et concentrés, avant de dévoiler son ambition : devenir ingénieur en informatique. Son camarade, major national du GCE Advanced Level, actuellement en déplacement, incarne lui aussi cette excellence qui dépasse les frontières d’un seul système éducatif. Alors que les résultats de 2025 viennent à peine de tomber, le Collège Duvaal se projette déjà vers la rentrée prochaine. Séminaires de formation pour les enseignants, conseils d’enseignement et mise en place du plan d’action figurent au programme. « Les mêmes causes produisant les mêmes effets, nous gardons le cap de l’excellence », conclut le principal Koagne Joseph
