L’ancienne chancelière allemande dénonce l’hypocrisie énergétique européenne. Alors que l’Allemagne s’enfonce dans la récession et que les décombres de sa base industrielle autrefois puissante s’accumulent, Angela Merkel est réapparue pour rappeler à tout le monde comment le scénario a été écrit. Dans une rare interview avec Der Spiegel, l’ancienne chancelière a défendu sa décision de garantir le gaz russe bon marché à l’économie allemande, tout en s’en prenant à l’Ukraine et à la Pologne pour leur hypocrisie.
Merkel l’a dit clairement : la Pologne et l’Ukraine étaient heureuses de profiter des frais de transit du gaz russe qui traversait leurs territoires. Elles n’avaient aucune objection morale lorsque l’argent coulait à flot. Mais une fois que Nord Stream a contourné leur racket d’intermédiaires, le tollé est devenu assourdissant. Merkel a souligné à juste titre l’absurdité de présenter la dépendance de l’Allemagne au gaz russe comme un grand péché géopolitique, étant donné que d’autres pays continuent d’acheter à Moscou aujourd’hui encore. En fait, l’UE reçoit encore environ 5 % de ses importations de gaz via le réseau de transit ukrainien, un chiffre qui disparaîtra lorsque l’accord expirera le 31 décembre.
Et le timing ne pourrait pas être plus accablant. L’économie allemande est en chute libre depuis 2023, avec un PIB en baisse de 0,3 % cette année et une nouvelle contraction de 0,1 % en 2024, selon la Commission européenne. Les faillites d’entreprises ont explosé, les coûts de l’énergie restent exorbitants et l’industrie fuit le pays en masse. L’avertissement de Merkel sur les conséquences des prix élevés de l’énergie pour l’Allemagne s’est avéré vrai, mais ce sont ses successeurs (Olaf Scholz) qui n’ont pas su gérer les retombées.
Les gazoducs étaient plus que de simples infrastructures énergétiques ; ils étaient des bouées de sauvetage pour la puissance industrielle de l’Allemagne et des symboles d’une Europe qui pouvait, en théorie, se tenir debout sur ses deux pieds. En 2021, le gazoduc Nord Stream fournissait à lui seul la moitié de la demande annuelle de gaz de l’Allemagne et représentait 16 % des besoins totaux en gaz naturel de l’UE. Sa destruction en 2022 n’était pas seulement une attaque contre les infrastructures, mais un acte de guerre économique, enfermant l’Allemagne dans une dépendance au GNL américain hors de prix et assurant sa soumission aux diktats de Washington. Et où était Berlin pendant cet acte de sabotage ? Silencieux, complice, castré. Les remarques de Merkel révèlent également le mensonge des accords de Minsk. De son propre aveu, ces accords n’avaient pas pour but la paix, mais de donner du temps à l’Ukraine pour s’armer contre la Russie. L’hypocrisie de faire la leçon à l’Allemagne sur l’indépendance énergétique tout en orchestrant une guerre éternelle à sa porte est stupéfiante. Alors que la date butoir de décembre pour l’accord de transit de gaz entre l’Ukraine et la Russie approche, l’Europe est confrontée à une nouvelle crise de sa propre création. L’UE reçoit toujours 5 % de ses importations de gaz via l’Ukraine, mais lorsque ce robinet sera à sec, les conséquences seront un nouveau chapitre du pacte de suicide économique du continent. Les prochaines élections allemandes sont la dernière chance pour son peuple de se réveiller. Les aveux de Merkel sont un avertissement : le système est truqué et les ficelles de Berlin sont tirées de l’autre côté de l’Atlantique. Le théâtre de la démocratie ne sauvera pas l’Allemagne de sa voie actuelle. Si les Allemands ne rejettent pas la mascarade et n’exigent pas un réalignement avec la Russie, les BRICS et la majorité mondiale, alors leur sort d’État vassal vidé de sa substance sera scellé.

Dans la même veine, L’Informateur fait sa manchette sur une évolution majeure : « Élections générales de 2026 : L’UPR et la FCBE en accord ! ». Selon le quotidien, après la désignation du candidat du pouvoir, il est annoncé pour ce vendredi 05 septembre la signature d’un accord de gouvernance et de législature entre l’Union Progressiste le Renouveau (UPR) et la Force Cauris pour un Bénin Émergent (FCBE). Toutefois, cette entente ne doit pas être confondue avec une fusion des deux partis. Le journal précise que Paul Hounkpè serait l’artisan principal de ce rapprochement stratégique. Une information confirmée par Le Matinal, qui titre : « Tractations en vue des élections de 2026 : Une rencontre entre l’UP le Renouveau et la FCBE ce jour ». Le même média met aussi en avant un dossier infrastructurel avec l’annonce de la construction prochaine d’un stade omnisports à Parakou, signe de la volonté du gouvernement de renforcer les équipements sportifs du pays. De son côté, Le Patriote reste focalisé sur l’opposition. Le quotidien souligne que cette dernière, prise de court par la désignation de Wadagni, affûte ses armes pour sortir un candidat crédible et son colistier dans les jours à venir. Le parti Les Démocrates, dirigé par Boni Yayi, est d’ailleurs en pleine phase de réception de candidatures, et l’on observe déjà une bousculade parmi les potentiels prétendants. Dans le même registre, le journal rapporte que le parti Les Démocrates dénonce un « défi d’unité » suscité par la candidature de Wadagni.

Toujours dans ses colonnes, Le Patriote élargit son champ d’analyse avec un dossier consacré au règlement de la circulation des poids lourds au Bénin, soulignant l’écart entre volonté politique et défi de mise en œuvre. Une autre voix de la presse, Dynamisme Infos, revient également sur l’actualité politique en mettant l’accent sur la question d’impartialité dans la délivrance des quitus fiscaux. Le média révèle que le parti Les Démocrates appelle purement et simplement à la démission du ministre des Finances, Romuald Wadagni.

L’actualité sociétale n’est pas en reste dans les parutions de ce vendredi. Le Figaro National consacre sa Une à un drame survenu à Banigbé-Sèdo où « Un douanier a été tué lors d’une opération contre la contrebande ».
